Lucie Krysatis was born on the 23rd of October, 1997, in Luxembourg. She began playing the horn at the age of six in the Conservatory of Luxembourg with her teacher Carlo Pettinger. At the “Concours Européen pour Young Soloists” competition, she was awarded in the category “Division Honneur” with a “médaille d'or”, the “Prix SACEM”, the “Prix Diffwinds” and the “Prix EMCY 2014”. From October 2017 until July 2021, she has been studying horn with prof. Johannes Hinterholzer and prof. Carsten Duffin at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater München” and is currently studying with prof. Sybille Mahni at "Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. In 2019, she attended the “Bayreuther Festspiele” as a scholarship holder of the „Richard Wagner Verband München“. In October 2019, she won 1st prize and a special prize to record with Bavarian Radio at the “11.Internationaler Jan Koetsier Wettbewerb” with Raclette Quartett. The young hornplayer gained orchestra experience as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and as a substitute with orchestras like the “Münchner Symphoniker”. From September 2021 till July 2022 she held the academy position in the "NDR Elbphilharmonieorchester" in Hamburg and will start her contract as the new principal horn of the "Hamburger Symphoniker"
In addition to her lessons with prof. Mahni, she has participated in various master classes, for example the “Internationale Horntage in Telfs”, with prof. Frøydis Ree Wekre, prof. Thomas Hauschild, prof. Radovan Vlatković, prof. Erich Penzel, prof. Raimund Zell, Hasko Kröger, and prof. Christian Lampert.
