Caroline Messner

Caroline Messner was born on the 18th of December, 1999, in South Tyrol (Italy). She had horn lessons at the music school of Bressanone and Chiusa with her teacher Manfred Messner from 2008-2018. During these years, she got several first prizes and two special prizes, one for her solo performance in 2015 and another one with her horn quartet “Cornis“ in 2018 at the Austrian youth competition “Prima la Musica“. Besides these, she was awarded multiple times at the Austrian competition “Musik in kleinen Gruppen“. From 2016-2018 she was a tutoring student for prof. Norbert Stertz at the conservatory “Claudio Monteverdi'' in Bolzano. Since October 2018, Caroline Messner has been a student in prof. Johannes Hinterholzer’s class at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. In October 2019, she won 1st prize and a special prize to record with Bavarian Radio at the “11.Internationaler Jan Koetsier Wettbewerb” with Raclette Quartett. She has participated in multiple masterclasses with prof. Erich Penzel, prof. Froydis Ree Wekre, prof. Raimund Zell, prof. Christian Lampert, prof. Hasko Kröger, prof. Szabolcs Zempleni, and prof. Thomas Hausschild.

She plays with the "Südtiroler Filarmonica" and played as a subsitute with orchestras such as Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Hamburger Camerata, Nürnberger Symphoniker and BRSO.
